How will these be remembered? He wondered as he meticulously worked the tip of the brush onto the wood. Every stroke matter. There is no undoing at each mistake. How will I be remembered? Will these be in a museum somewhere long after my body turned to ashes? Will these be in someone’s home, treasured like it’s gold? Or will my work be in a garbage heap, somewhere rotting away?

Adjusting his glasses, he appraised his craftmanship. Not bad, he thought and put down his paintbrush. Too bad what I make from this will only be sufficient for one meal.
