I meant to post these photos last week but wanted to get the writing of my recent trip to China completely finished before moving back to my usual scheduled posts.
Anyway, I was not expecting flowers so late in the season but since first frost is imminent but not in sight, I’ll take every minutes and seconds to enjoy the colors in the garden before it’s gone. I tried planting these cosmos for two or three years now and this year was the first successful attempt. Unfortunately, I used the last of the seeds on this year’s flowers and I don’t think I will be able to collect any seeds from this plant. The only hope left is that it dropped plenty of seeds that there’ll be volunteers next year.

I had made another collection of my calendula flowers, just in case I need to make more body butter before these bloom again next summer. I’m still using the body butter I made earlier this year. It has calendula and lavender essential oil along with coconut oil, olive oil, shea butter, and beeswax. It’s been a lifesaver in preventing skin cracking.
The zinnia does this to me every year. It would stay scrawny all summer and then just before the weather would get cold, it grows and blooms like crazy. I need to do more resarch on zinnia.
I purposely positioned myself so that the rosemary is sticking out of the allysum. I love both of these plants. They both have their uses in the places in the garden. Let’s hope the allysum returns in 2027.
