Sometimes, I wonder, what it would be like to live in a world with no color? Would it make picking clothes out of a department store easier? What about daily outfits? It’s just black and white, right? No need to decide between a rainbow of colors.
Why would I pop up such a ridiculous question, you may ask?
As you know, I have a graduation ceremony coming up on Thursday, May 1, and I am just having the toughest time picking out clothes and shoes. I have already been to three different clothing stores and all the dresses are either in the most vibrant colors or it is not in my size. As you should know, I am only 4 foot 9 inches. So you can imagine that buying new clothes is a challenge for me.
Anyway, at the beginning, I was thinking of a short mono-colored trendy dress (perhaps strapless) to wear underneath my gown but for some reason, all the dresses were either beyond short or too long that I look like somebody coming out of the 90’s. After three different stores, I accomplished nothing. Therefore, I was left with one last alternative, wear one of my old dresses, one which I have not worn since one of my mother’s balls in 2010.
I was so afraid that it would not fit because I am not in the same shape as I was 4 years ago. I reluctantly tried it on two nights ago and to my surprise, it fit! (Sorry, no pictures, I want to be a surprise for my graduation day.) The dress, however, in my opinion has the weirdest color combination. It is black paired with aqua. In my opinion, that is the strangest pattern of colors I have ever seen. Usually, black is paired with white. I mean, isn’t that not a rule of the universe?
This brings me back to my ridiculous question. In my opinion, I think if the world is in black and white, yes, it probably would make my life of fashion so much easier but then it would probably also make mine and everyone else’s lives a living hell because without color, our lives feel so gloomy.

Yes, I agree a colourless world would make getting dressed easier. I wouldn’t want to be in a world without colour. I would miss all the amazing colours the natural world gives us. https://cultivatingtime.wordpress.com/

That’s just about the only advantage of a colorless world but yes, I would miss all the beauty we see in color too.
