You snooze, you lose. That is just the lesson I learned today.
The result?
4000 dollars worth of designer credit, money that will go toward the upgrades for the new house. As I mentioned earlier this week in Fear of snakes or just don’t like the view, my mom went back and forth trying to decide whether to buy the plot of land to build her own custom home. Well, after making one after another excuses, she’s finally decided to buy the land.
She dragged me into it too. Now, let’s not say it so harsh, believe it or not, I was kind of honored because I finally own something even though not completely. Anyway, we spent the entire showery afternoon signing pages after pages of document, making an offer for the new house.
I was so bored and tired by the time it was over. My mom and the agent talked and talked repeatedly about the things my mom wanted to change about the layout like moving the laundry room from the second floor to the first and putting tile all over the house. About a gajullion questions and answers later, we finally got down to business.
Then the shock came…
A week ago, when we met the agent at the site, he said we could request a $4000 designer credit where we get to use the money to do upgrades. Well, guess what? That was last month’s promotion. We are about three weeks late. Now not only we just bought a house that is already way over our budget but we also need to pay for the pricey upgrades to make the house our own. Well, I guess that’s the price we have to pay when we snooze.
I will try to keep you up-to-date as our little project moves along.
