Black and White

Do you know? One of the ways to makes ordinary things look extraordinary is to make the colors go away? At least in my opinion because I think sometimes, colors take away our focus from the main object that is presented in the pictures. Therefore, for this week’s challenge, I decided to go black and white.

I hope you’ll enjoy my take of turning boring every objects into something that looks like belong in a history textbook.DSCF0469

I took these while I was in Las Vegas a month ago. Wow, has it really been a month?

I don’t think I’ve showed these pictures yet. Anyway, I was bored of waiting for the event to begin and evidently, everyone decided to ignore me. So what can I do but play with my camera?

  1. Do any of you prefer black and white television? They can be pulled up in old movies and tv shows. I was around then; I enjoy color. I had my sons pictures hand tinted. Those were the days! However, Yinglan, what you have done with these pictures is very nice. I like them.

  2. I enjoy a lot of B&W TV. My dvd collection has various black and white shows including Hancock’s Half Hour, Quatermass, Doctor Who and the Avengers.

    1. I don’t know a lot of B&W TV shows or movies other than The Little Rascals (the 30’s version) and I Love Lucy though I have watched the B&W version of Frankenstein. It’s pretty good. Some movies and shows are meant to be in black and white while others would look tremendously better in color.

      1. Here in the UK programs were still being made in B/W until at least 1970 and many homes didn’t have colour sets until the late 70s, so b/w is still reasonbly well known here.

      1. haha, yes, I’d gulp it right down, then deal with the brain freeze after. I think I’m just really thirsty right now 😉 Was this with your actual camera, or the one on your phone? They turned out great in B & W

      2. Ha ha 😀
This was taken with my actual camera since unfortunately I don’t have a phone with a camera and the camera on my tablet has a brain of its own. All the photos have actually been adjusted, color-wise in photoshop before I took away the colors.
