First Snow

I hope you’ve noticed the change of colors from orange to white. That’s because it snowed today. It’s the first snow of the season. Sorry about the picture, by the way. I snapped it in the moment.

wpid-wp-1446743810901.jpegI think the snow came early this year. It’s probably due to the extra rainy spring and not-as-hot summer. I went back and searched for my post about the first snow of 2014. You can read it here or below in related posts. Evidently, the first snow last year was on November 13. So I am right.

I remember I was excited for the storm last year while my mom was panicking about the snow tires. I remember waiting at the tire store waiting for the mechanic to swap the regular tires to snow tires while a dozen other people were waiting for more or less the same thing.

That day was quite eventful, actually. My second accident occurred that day and what was a 30-minutes drive turned into a 2-hour drive all because the police were too busy to respond to my minor accident when there were many more other traffic accidents that day.

Long story short, I was on my way home from school and a guy who was rushing to his calculus class slid into me and another lady. Fortunately, it didn’t do as much damage to my mom’s car as he did to the other lady’s SUV. That accident proved the major disadvantage to carrying a prepaid phone because I was carrying my mom’s prepaid phone which couldn’t receive calls and my mom wouldn’t answer her cell because she didn’t want to waste $1.99 daily charge.

Weirdly enough, my mom was more concerned for me than the car which it’s a good thing but I was positive she would be more concern about the car than me.

At least she didn’t blame me for this accident like she did the first time when I ended up being fined for not yielding a car going straight. Not my fault, by the way, that car had her right blinker on going straight but she was pretty and the officer believed her.

So far, today had been quite irritating because my mom threw a tantrum about her can’t find the tiny post-it she needed to fill out her form. I knew that when she became unemployed, I would be the victim to her temper but then again, am I not always the victim?

  1. I remember how Andrea was often telling me of November snowfalls back in the day. It always amused me as snow tends to fall late December to February in the UK, but mostly we just get freezing fog and frost. It amused me hearing stories of her Snow Angeling and snowman building.
These days the realities of snowfall are far to much on the agenda of my friends.
