A-Z Challenge 2016: A for Aspirations

aspirations quote

So today is the first day of the A-Z challenge 2016. I’m so excited and above is my first quote and to go along with the quote and the topic of aspirations, I will do a quick introduction for those new to my blog and not yet had a chance to go to the About Me page.

My name is Yinglan, I am originally from Zhongshan, a city located in the Guangdong province in the southeastern corner of mainland China. If you’ve ever been there, you’ll know but usually when people asks me what part of China I’m from, I’ll tell them a city about 90 minutes from Hong Kong which it’s true whether you go by bus or boat and Hong Kong is one of those cities which everyone knows where it is. Anyway, since I’ve been in the U.S. for more than half of my life, I consider myself to be a Chinese American.

I am in my mid-20’s and 4 foot 8 inches tall due to a genetic mutation in my body but don’t worry, I don’t have super power or anything like that, unless you count having an active imagination a super power. Although small, I am filled to the brim with dreams, aspirations, and hope. I can sometimes be daringly optimistic while at other times, I can be insanely realistic. I’m also quite good at making people feel good as I found out recently. (story to be told at a later date)

I don’t think I’ve ever told anyone this but I dream to one day be a director and writer. It is my aspiration to write the story of a lifetime (fiction of course), a story that is good enough to go to Hollywood, to get on TV or the big screen and then it’ll be my job to tell the story in action. Like I said, daringly optimistic.

But for now, I have to focus on finishing this second and final degree to please my mom, get a job, make some big bucks before I can fulfill my aspirations.

  1. I love this quote 🙂 I think my calling is to be a writer too although I wouldn’t even attempt the directing part! Good luck, I hope it happens for you

  2. To be able to support myself on a writing income making good money. I don’t know if that is even a possible for thing for many writers, but I’d like to see if I can do it. Good luck with your own aspirations!
