To be honest, I didn’t think I’d do much this weekend let alone visiting a National Forest, the Uinta National Forest. It is the only National Forest that I have ever visited that required a fee to get in. The fee was totally worth it though because the forest is completely breathtaking. I swear, I can stay there forever and will not get bored listening to the birds and crickets chirping and singing. I felt like I was temporarily a part of nature.

Listening to the sound of water rushing downstream felt so relaxing to me and with a slight breeze, it was perfect. Give me a chair and a book and I’ll never leave.

Look at how perfect the weather was. No clouds, mid to upper 80’s degrees Fahrenheit. Standing there at 8000 feet elevation, taking pictures, my friends from the UK began to wonder how there is still snow on the mountains. I don’t know the answer to that question. I just shrugged. That’s just how it is. The mountains still have snow even in mid-July.

Did I mention that that was the first time I’ve visited a National Forest? Like stepping out of the car, hiking, and taking pictures visit? Most of the times when I visit a National Forest, it’s a drive-through like I need to go through the forest to get to somewhere else. This forest is unique.
- An entrance fee is required
- Only one way in and one way out
- Features beyond a forest

More coming up in Part 2!
