Cee’s Black & White Photo Challenge – Flowers

Each year, the plants and flowers in my backyard just seizes to amaze me. Like these flowers right now, they’re lily, right? They look like lilies. My point is before this year I have never seen such flowers in the backyard. Did my mom secretly planted these? Hmm…

I think they’re prettier in black and white. The flowers are white anyways with black dots and I think the flowers look less distracted in monochrome, without all the green in the background for distraction.

I took this at school early spring. At first, I didn’t know what flowers are these but then I saw a blogger from the other side of the globe post a picture of flowers that look just like these. Then I knew, these are magnolia, unopened ones. I don’t like them opened, it looks prettier this way.

Finally, here is one of large pink and white elephant ear roses in the front yard, which I shot some time ago. As the heat wave came, all the flowers in the yard died and no matter how much water we give it, it won’t revive. It’s too hot. Therefore, I guess these are my last flower pictures for 2016 unless some miracle happens. We’ll see.
