Good Saturday morning and thank you for joining me for this lovely chat. What would you like to drink? I tend to stick to tea these days. After I started eating clean, my entire attitude toward food has changed.
Anyway, how was your week? Did anything exciting happen?
I had a great week, mostly because it’s the week before Christmas, and because I finally dropped another pound. Yay! My co-workers had been complimenting me all week about how skinny I am. I couldn’t help but blush. I am now at last below 113 pounds and some of my tight-fitting clothes are now quite comfortable.
It’s been at least two or three years since I’ve seen this beautiful number. Yesterday, I peeked at my driver license which was replaced in 2013 after I lost my previous one, read I was 113 pounds.
On the other hand, the worst part of the week was when I went over my daily calorie limit. That happened on Sunday and Wednesday.
What happened on those days?
On Sunday, my mom fried two-pounds of rice noodle plus nearly a pound of bean sprouts. The next morning, I woke up to a shocking, yet, not-shocking one-pound gain.
Then on Wednesday, on Mr. CFO’s last day in the office before heading back to California to celebrate Christmas, he bought cake and cookies. I couldn’t help myself. After all, what is holiday without a little food celebration? That time wasn’t too bad, only a 0.2 pound (about 3.2 ounces) gain but I walked an extra mile that day and shed those ounces and more. The next morning, I woke up to 113.0 pounds and all it took was a 3-mile walk around the block plus a 2-mile walk on the treadmill.
I would tell you I feel so grateful for this weight loss. You have no idea how many things I’ve tried – diets, diet pills, light effective exercises. Nothing ever worked. I think I just needed the motivation from a watch and an app to tell me how far and how long I’ve walked.
I also am grateful for the exchange of presents. I received wonderful thoughtful gifts from my co-workers after handing out my gifts to them. I even got a gift from the bosses – a $200 gift card. I am planning on buying a heavier set of dumbbells (the ones I have now are not heavy enough), a mini-stepper (since I don’t have room for a stair-climber), and some things to beautify myself like curling iron and mascara since my co-worker gifted me a box of eye-shadow. I know my mom will object me on buying all these things but it’s my gift. So it’s my decision.
If we were having this lovely conversation, I would thank you for joining me. I wish you a Merry Christmas 🎄 and hopefully we both can be here again next weekend.

I don’t know why, but by reading each line of your post I feel like I’m experiencing those moments with you!

I think that’s the point I’m writing these posts, so I can look back a few months or a year from now and go oh, that’s what happened last year at this time.

Congratulations! I was doing OK on weight loss until the holidays! LOL I’ll be back on the wagon after I give away all the treats I’m baking.. I’m glad you’ll be spending your gift as you wish – that’s the point and it’s absolutely your decision.. Have a very Merry Christmas!

The holidays, ugh, always give one a reason to fall off the wagon. I sure hope that won’t happen to me.
Thank you for reading and Merry Christmas. 🎄

I’ve gained so much weight right now owing to my anti-depressants. I feel you. Also, tea is love ♥️

I’m sorry to hear that. I had that experience too with my thyroid medication.

I walked for 15 minutes today and it is very humble for a start but I’m glad I took the first step.
