What would be your ideal fantasy way to spend Monday?
My ideal fantasy way to spend Monday would be to stay home with a work-from-home job which goes according to my schedule. That way, I get to stay home and still get a paycheck.
What one person that you are out of contact with would you like to say thank you to?
I have become out of contact with a few individual since I returned from China even though it’s been less than two weeks – my grandma, cousins, aunts, and uncles. I should probably call them once I get this unemployment thing taken care of. The person I would like to say thank you to would be my grandma. I’d like to thank her for all the times I invited her out to morning tea and she paid for it. It should’ve been me who should pay for the meal, not her.
List your favorite toys or games as a kid?
For as long as I can remember, I didn’t play a lot of games when I was a kid. I mostly spent my time watching TV while trying to shut out my parents’ argument. I know, it was sad. Then when I did get to play, those games were usually board games. These were and are my favorite games to play as a kid – Monopoly, The Game of Life, Clue, Stratego, and Yahtzee.
I didn’t discover Scrabble until I was in high school, so that doesn’t count. I still play these games on the computer sometimes since I can’t find someone to play the board version with me.
What did you appreciate or what made you smile this past week? Feel free to use a quote, a photo, a story, or even a combination.
I felt quite down yesterday because this unemployment is making me feel like I’m stuck and don’t know how to get out. It made me question whether I had made the right decision to quit my job last month. It made me wonder whether I should return to school and spend another one to two years of my life going to lectures, doing homework, and taking exams.
I’ve been checking every job board available since last November and even enlisted the help of a recruitment agent but sadly, no job available in my area. Since when has the job market shift seventy miles southward?
I’ve been trying to go freelance but no luck yet. They say the first job’s the hardest and I am not giving up. I just need something quicker.
Suddenly, a light bulb lit up in my head. Isn’t there a certification for Quickbooks? I quickly googled. There is a certification for Quickbooks and if I pass and become certified, it might present new job opportunities for me. After learning this news, I saw that glimmer of hope again and with better luck, I might just open my own business. So knowing I can get certified inspired me to get up and stop feeling sad and stressed.

I spent my childhood to shutting out my parents too. You are going to find a wonderful job of your own making. 😀

Monopoly and Scrabble were at the top of my list. A neighbor taught us both when we were young and I still love them. 😊

If you want your own job from home: well, make it happen! This is the way, for example, I am employed. Self.
