Photo of the Day!

It seems I’m determined to start your day with food this week. 😄 I can’t help it, I guess. Anyway, they call this street cart fries. Before you ask, I don’t know why it’s called that.

This was my lunch on Wednesday when we went out to this Mediterranean restaurant for lunch to celebrate a colleague’s birthday. I thought it was pretty good even though my favorite item were the fries. I have been craving fries for a while. I do wish there were more items on the menus other than fries and wraps and the prices be a little lower. It felt a little expensive for a tray of fries to cost 8-dollars.

It was worth a try, though.

  1. Interesting – I see feta cheese, onions, and some tomato. What else is on there?

Funny that I was just writing today about how so many disparate cultures have the same types of dishes. “Fries with delicious toppings on them” is definitely a thing. This makes me think of Poutine – a dish that originated in Quebec: Fries, topped with gravy and cheese curds (and sometimes other things like sliced hot dog, peas, or hamburger). It’s pretty good but not particularly healthy as you might imagine!

    1. It’s got pepperoncini, green bell pepper, and a combination of potato and sweet potato fries as well as those things you named. Poutine is on my list of dishes to try if I ever visit Canada again. It sounds yummy and of course, once in a while, we all must indulge ourselves.

      1. Absolutely – some foods are healthy for our bodies, and others are healthy for our souls. Both must be nourished.

Or at least that’s what I tell myself.
