This week on Truthful Tuesday, hosted by Thoughts and Theories, asks:

Have you been to any movies that you absolutely expected to enjoy, but ended up hating? Or perhaps you went begrudgingly to a film with someone else and ended up enjoying it despite your expectations? Let us know about a time when a movie defied your expectations. What made it better or worse than expected?
I haven’t been in a movie theater in over decade. The last time I went to movie was in 2008 when my mom was in Army boot camp and I was living alone, trying my best to be a grown-up despite being 16. Once in a while, my mom’s friends, who used to live a few blocks from me, would take me to the $1 movies.
That theater didn’t play new movies. It played movies that’s been out for a month and no longer playing at regular movie theater. Mom’s friend had 3 children, all younger than me and under 13. So PG-13 movies were out of the picture.
We would usually go see kids movies, not my usual genre. On the other hand, I hadn’t, still haven’t, known the type of movies I’m into. I like anything from historical drama to silly kids films to suspense and thrillers. The only movie genre I will never watch is horror.
As for those movies I watched with the kids, I ended up quite enjoying them. I wouldn’t say they defied my expectations but they were enjoyable and kept me entertained.
