This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #179, host Patti challenges everyone to seek serenity in our photographs.
Thinking of serenity got me digging into my photo archive, scrolling through photos of past travels and hikes. After a while, I landed on this photo – a group of houses in the middle of a frozen lake. This is Lake Minnewanka, a lake in Banff National Park in Alberta, Canada.
I visited this place in May 2017 and remember feeling as though time stood still as I took in the silence and beauty of the frozen lake. It was truly peaceful and serene.
This is a wonderful example of serene Yinglan!

Hi, Yinglan. I wanted to go to Banff this year, but the pandemic and fires stopped us. I’m hoping we can go next year. What a gorgeous spot! Your photos are wonderful.

Thank you. Lake Minnewanka is a must-visit in Banff even when it’s frozen. I hope you get to go in 2022. 🙂

Beautiful. The second photo, on reflection, is my fave, but how are those buildings in the middle of the lake? Do they float or are they on a bit of land?

I’m not sure how they are constructed. There must be something holding them up. Hmm…
