Share Your World – Week of January 10, 2022

Who do you think is an example of a successful person?

A successful person is one who works hard, depends on nobody but him or herself, and has achieved financial independence. I don’t have any example of a special person but this would be my definition of a successful person, someone I hope to become one day.

Why are you doing what you’re currently doing?   (take this in any context you like, either as a “what you’re doing RIGHT NOW THIS SECOND” or “what you’re doing in your life at this point” or any other way that occurs to you.  The question is a bit ambiguous..)

I am going to attack this two ways:

#1 Why am I currently working at a job with long hours and a wage that doesn’t match my educational level?

To achieve financial independence and with a little frugality, I can save just as much as a person with a higher paying job can save. Besides, of all the crummy jobs I’ve had in the past, this is by far the best.

#2 Why am I currently living with my mother?

Actually my mother’s the one living with me, the other way around. Her house is down the street. This is actually my house. Each time I bring it up, she will bring up the enormous money I still owe her for my student loan debt, car payment, and house down payment, which makes me angry and speechless. End of argument – mom 1, me 0.

She actually tells her friends it’s her house. Her friends actually takes her word for it and think I’m just the loser daughter still living with her mother at 30-year-old.

What is your personal theme song?

I don’t have one but I would imagine it’s elaborate with a jazzy trumpet solo.

What do you think about tofu?

It’s yummy when it’s cooked correctly, which is stir-fried in my opinion, otherwise, it will cause me to have awful indigestion and acid reflux.

GRATITUDE SECTION (as always, optional)

Where did you find bliss this past week?

Surprisingly, I found bliss crocheting. I found this pattern online. It’s quite complex but I find it’s quite relaxing, like putting together a jigsaw puzzle but with yarn. This is the progress I made. It will be a part of larger blanket.

  1. Yikes….Sounds somewhat like my dad. Thankfully he doesn’t live with us, but he has (quite often, in the past) brought up all the ways he’s helped us out financially, and likes to throw it in our faces especially when he wants something done his way. As if he has the right to control us due to his financial assistance.
