Emily tugs at her father’s shirt, “Daddy, who are you looking for?”
Her father smiles and picks her up, “Hey sweets, I was looking for you, who else? Did you enjoy story time with Ms. Rose?”
“Sure did, daddy.” Emily says then whispers, “Ms. Rose is over there, in case you’re wondering.” She winks.
He gives his daughter a look and wonders. How did my little girl come to know me so well? Before he can ponder further, Miss Rose strides over, “Hi,” she says.
“Uh hi.” He stutters. “I, I…”
“Daddy’s wondering if you wanna have coffee with him.”

I agree, kids are typically more observant than adults give them credit for.

Wing daughter is like a wing man (someone providing support for a friend trying to get a date) except the wing man or wing girl (in this case) is the daughter, so wing daughter it is. 🙂
