Hello, welcome to #weekendcoffeeshare! Grab yourself a quick drink and let’s have a caffeinated speedy chat. I’m working today, so BOO!!!
It’s been three weeks since I last worked on a Saturday. This was a very last minute decision. For days, my brain has been at war with itself.
Shall I work this weekend?
Yes, no, YES, not in a million years.
I don’t know how the yeses won in the end but I have about a million things to do, despite already completing February’s month-end checklist with days to spare.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you it appears my surgery on Tuesday is a go. I had to go to clinic yesterday to get a CT scan so the doctor can see how my mouth is healing along. We didn’t have any discussion. I just got the scan done and left. The doctor did tell me the supplies for my surgery finally arrived the day before. Covid supply chain issue, ugh…
A nurse also asked if I’m excited for the surgery on Tuesday. I didn’t want to answer that but to be honest, I am excited. I want to get this thing done and move on. This problem’s occupied my life for too long.
I asked the doctor if I would be able to open my mouth after the surgery because it took 10 days for my left jaw to loosen this last time. He assured me this time won’t be like the last. “I pulled out 17 teeth last time, this time it’s only 4.”
As excited as I am about this imminent surgery, I am nervous. I have a photography composition class that’s starting on the 15th and there’s a work event on the 18th and I want to go to both, especially the one on the 18th. It’s the department’s quarterly activity and for this quarter, the department is renting a movie theater for the afternoon and we are seeing the movie, “Uncharted.” There will be food involved, so it makes me nervous to see whether I would be healed enough in 10 days.
I would no doubt be very disappointed if I can’t make it as I look forward to each quarterly event. It’s a few hours where I get to ditch work, get out of the house, and do something fun.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this edition of #weekendcoffeeshare, hope to chat again same time next week.

Hugs and prayers for the surgery.

Hi YingLan,
4 is a lot less than 17 (an number that still amazes me) so you should heal up faster.
You know, when this all settles out, you’re going to have to post a new photo. I don’t recall ever seeing a portrait of you. Maybe it’s time.
But then again – maybe not. We’ll love chatting with you each week regardless.
At least, I hope you’re able to take that day off with your peers from the office.

Well, I’m kinda camera shy, not because of my teeth, it has to do with my overall appearance and I don’t have anyone who knows how to capture my good angle. 😀 Hopefully, with some new teeth, I can gain back some confidence.

I hope both your surgery and recovery go smoothly. 🙏 Maybe you can go to the movie event even if you can’t get the food. I’m sure they will have something to drink. Not as fun, but better than nothing.
