Share Your World – Week of June 13, 2022

What is one topic you really like to talk about? Or something you really want to tell people?

I don’t really have a topic I really like to talk about. Often times, I like listening to people tell their stories. One can really learn about a person by watching and listening to them talk.

What do you normally never tell strangers about yourself? (be general, I don’t need to know details or invade privacy)

Probably my age because what if by telling a stranger my age, I can potentially expose myself to stranger danger.

Have you ever broken anything?  (can be health related, emotion related, or situation related – you define “broken anything” for your own satisfaction)

I have not broken any bones, thankfully. I have broken my skin plenty times being clumsy. I still have a long scar on my chin from when I slipped and fell chin first on a concrete step, resulted in several stitches. I have also broken a few plates, bowls, and possibly mugs, not on purpose, of course.

Is having a big ego a negative trait or positive trait?

To be honest, I rarely see having a big ego a positive trait. For a short time, a boosted ego can do a person some good but if a person has a big ego all the time, then the egotism becomes a negative trait.

This video tells all about why having a big ego is a negative trait.

  1. Thanks for Sharing Your World Yinglan! I loved people watching (what they call observing others over here) too. Now I have to content myself with doing that when I’m actually out and about, a rare thing. You can learn loads just by sitting quietly and watching others, it’s fascinating IMO. I am of the opinion that you’ve had a tough time health wise, but have endured your various illnesses, bumps and cuts with grace and aplomb. That’s a wonderful ability if you didn’t know. One can really see another’s character by seeing the person when they’re ill or after a surgical event. Inhibitions tend to get lowered. I am intrigued by your answer to the person information question, I tend to think you’re in your mid to late 20s, but could be wrong. Some people have ‘ageless faces’. I hope your week is peaceful and full of good things! Have a great day!

    1. I think, by watching people, I can hone my skill of reading people’s demeanor. I had to do a lot of that when my mom was still renting her houses out and she needed me to get a read on whether her tenant(s) are good people or bad (as in whether the tenant will delinquent on rent) and I’m usually right.
I frequently feel like I’ve been through worse pain in life that a little scrape is nothing.
LOL! I wish I’m still in my 20’s. 😂 I’ve been able to fool a lot of people this way, especially door to door salesmen who look at me and will think I’m in my teens. I even managed to fool a few LDS missionaries a few weeks ago because I’m sure they wouldn’t think they’re talking to someone twice their age.
