Hello July!

I had almost forgotten today is July 1st! Is that bad?

Well, I wouldn’t say I’ve forgotten per se, writing the post to welcome July just didn’t occur in my head, that’s all.

I think that’s partially due the lack of sleep this week. For those new to my blog, I was diagnosed with subcutaneous lupus of the skin in 2016 and my skin flare-ups have been bad but never this bad. They usually subside during the wee hours of the morning but my attacks this weeks have been during the hours when I should’ve been sleeping.

When my skin flares, I get these tiny bumps on my skin and it itches, burns, and my skin temperature instantly raises a few degrees. It’s like my skin is having a fever trying to burn off whatever’s roaming beneath the surface. My first instinct is to scratch like crazy. In fact, it’s what I’m doing while typing this post as these little annoying bumps take care my arms despite being in an air-conditioned room.

It’s usually bad during the summer months but I don’t think it’s ever been this bad. I have an appointment with my rheumatologist next week, hopefully I can get some answers. I also have an appointment at the end of July with my dermatologist but until then, I basically have to stay out of the summer heat, which is kinda hard when I have a garden to tend.

I’ll have to make sure I slather myself in SPF 100 before heading outside. Ugh!

Anyway, June came and flew by. My workweeks have been maintained at around 40 hours with a few minutes more here and there. Maybe my time of working overtime is over. Hopefully, I haven’t just jinxed it.

Some of the most exciting things that happened in June were definitely the company summer party, the airshow, and my double pay raises. I’m looking forward to see how it will affect me in the upcoming months since I will no longer have my overtime pay to fall back on (at least not as much as I used to).
