Hello, welcome to #weekendcoffeeshare. Let’s grab a cold one to celebrate the arrival of summer!
If we were having coffee, I would tell you Mother Nature might have finally realized that it’s time to get warm. I spent my Memorial Day long weekend at home, doing next to nothing because the sky poured for two-and-a-half days, giving a much needed 2 inches of water. It was chilly, too, not what you normally see in May.
My garden loved it though, me, not so much. A lot of the plants turned green after the downpour on Sunday. This type of storm is rare where I live but it was a definite welcome in the midst of an extreme drought.
It’s been warming up since June 1st and it’s supposed to get warmer this upcoming week.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you it was hard to go back to work after an extra long 4-day weekend. I found myself exhausted despite spending the last 4 days doing little to nothing. I don’t know what’s wrong with me but I’ve just been so exhausted lately. My Fitbit is telling me I’m stressed and that stress management score has been in the 70’s.
Hmm? I don’t feel stressed, not since I no longer have to work extra hours.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you I finally got my raise this week at work. It was just as I had thought all along, at least, it was the number I told myself I would get. It was a substantial increase, all right, and I believe it might had pushed me to the next income tax bracket, which might mean I have pay more taxes and to think this is just the first of 2 raises I’m getting in June.
The second raise will come later this month, or as the company’s President addressed, and it’s to help us overcome inflation. I think my work is more interesting than my life right now.
If we were having coffee, I would tell you my work gave out another bonus this week. It was an advancement for everyone’s performance bonus. They haven’t given one since 2020 and this might had been for last year. I guess it’ll help me pay my auto and house insurance renewal next month.
I appreciate you stopping by and reading this week’s #weekendcoffeeshare, hope to chat again same time next week.

Congrats for your raising. I hope you are finally enjoying some sun on this weekend.

Congrats on the raise! I’m jealous of your Memorial Day rain. We need rain so much right now–triple-digit temps, single-digit humidity and wind. Ugh. Monsoon season can’t get here fast enough.

That sounds like what I had experienced a few weeks ago minus the triple digit temperatures. It’s not pleasant. I hate winds because I have to almost pin everything down in my garden everytime it hits.

You need to start actively selling your photographs. No matter how well you do, it will give you a place for business deductions. There are plenty of venues.

That’s very true. I have an account on FineArt and used to sell my photos but no one bought any. Perhaps, I need to try again.
