As far as shades of red goes, ruby has to be my favorite with scarlet not lagging far behind. I don’t know why that is. I think I just like the shade of dark red in ruby. Unfortunately, I don’t have anything ruby in my garden. This rose was from my previous home, which my uncle currently resides in, and I haven’t seen many roses from this bush this year yet.

The closest thing to red in my garden are my dwarf French marigolds. The inside of the flower petals are dark red when it’s just starting to bloom. It will gradually fade to orange (as you can see in the picture below) but that’s at least a few weeks away.
