Which side of the bed do you prefer to sleep on?
I can really go either side.
In the last decade or so, I have only ever switched sides twice. When my mom and I lived in a one-room apartment, we had to share a sofa bed. It was such an uncomfortable sleeping situation because the mattress would bounce each time one of us turned and I am a turner. After sleeping alone my whole life to sharing a bed with my mom at age 16, well, you can see the dilemma.
Basically, I had to sleep like a statue.
During that time, I slept on the left side of the bed. I don’t know my logic behind that decision other than maybe I tend to reach for things with my left hand as opposed to my right.
After moving into our first house and I finally got my own room, I still slept on the left because the dresser was on the left and I put everything on there. So if I ever need to grab something blindly, I can reach and grab it easily.
In the summer of 2020, after moving into my current home for 3 years, I decided to refurnish my bedroom. I got rid of my queen-size bed. It was taking up too much space in my already small room. I then replaced the bed with a smaller full-size bed, which opened up the room a little bit for more furniture.
I also got rid of the outdated dresser for a more modern-looking dresser along with a matching nightstand. Since then, I began sleeping on the right side of the bed even though I could’ve slept in the middle. I sleep on the right side of the bed because my phone is on the nightstand, which is on the right side of the bed. Again, it’s all about the ease of access.
Makes perfect sense to me. Thanks or joining in.

I feel weird on the right side. Dodger sleeps on the left side when she decides I need her love. Henry sleeps on the right side downstairs. Dodger sleeps wherever she sleeps. In Henry’s room she has choices. I could also sleep in the middle, but I don’t.

The middle is the worst place for sleeping.

I am getting a sore hip these days from sleeping on one side. It’s tricky cause you can never seem to get comfortable sleeping any other way. Aaargh. Thanks for sharing.

I think the key is to not sleep like a rock and move around if possible.
