“What cha doing, honey?” The mother behind the camera asks her daughter.
“Washing my dollies’ clothes, mommy.”
“Oh? You’re washing their clothes?” The little girl nods.
I press pause on the video, look over at my little girl who’s silently coloring, and wonder. Is it too early to teach a 6-year-old to learn to do the laundry?
I hit resume on the video and watch the little girl pressing a few button on her battery-operated toy washing machine. Within seconds, the machine comes to life as the clothes begin to spin. Yes, I come to the realization, it’s too early.

Let her grow older and she can be sent out to work in the mill

Age appropriate and readiness are considerations, but she gets the idea. Go with that. 🙂

Laundry is for grown-ups, playing is for kids.
