Friday Fictioneers: Thank Goodness for Laundromats

“Harmony, why are you running through my laundromat?” Mrs. Liu called as I burst through the door and straight to the back.

“Sorry, no time,” I answered, “homework deadline.”

Unbelievable!

My internet has chosen to go kaput in the 11th hour. Why must homework be due tonight? Thankfully, the laundromat owner, Mrs. Liu, is nice enough to allow me to occasional loiter in her laundromat and borrow her wi-fi. For some reason, I find the sound of the spin cycle soothing while doing my homework.

Mrs. Liu set down a cup of tea and orders, “drink, you are too tense.”
