In my About Me page, I wrote,
I will try to be positive even when all around me is sad and gloomy.
About Me! – This is Another Story
I’ve probably mentioned this on this blog many times that I often see myself an outlier in the family. Being optimistic and hopeful isn’t a family trait, at least not to my knowledge. The people on both sides of the family are a bunch of pessimists and realists. They would often only see the downsides of things and could never imagine and dream of the better, brighter side. Their lack of imagination often amaze me. How can one live without all the characters and imaginary places living in one’s head?
Though I try to be optimistic and hopeful, sometimes it is difficult to keep that internal light going as the people around me are trying to smother the light.

There is something magical about the sun, don’t you think? When it casts that final glow before the day is succumbed to the night as if the sun is putting up one last fight in a battle that it’s inevitable to lose. How about when it shines in the middle of winter even in its weakened state? Oh, and let’s don’t forget to mention when it rises above the horizon first thing in the morning.
That’s what comes to mind when I see the word for this week’s WQ challenge – Glowing.

Hi Ying Lan,
I did not expect to find you here but was pleased when I did.
I did a glowing coffee share by coincidence yesterday but think you will enjoy my photo of the glowing leaf. I hope you pop by to check it out.
In terms of our families, I grew up differently and then we raised our kids even more differently.
Another blogger got me thinking about a story I wrote years ago now and given your experience above, thought it might make you smile.
Hope you have a great weekend.

Hi Gary, I enjoyed your leaf photo. I thought those were pretty cool. I often have trouble with those kind of photo, whether because my camera won’t focus or because of my hand tremors. It’s subtle but those tiny tremors make a big difference sometimes.

Hi YingLan,
Ah – I bet they do. I don’t need to know the cause but of course this would make a huge difference to many shots.
Would a tri or mon-pod help?
I have a mono one that I got to use as a cane when I was working through getting back surgery. It has a camera base bolt for screwing into the camera and I think would work great for a situation like yours.

Yes, some kind of device to hold the camera or my phone in position would help.

Look into mono pods.
They’re lighter than tripods an can be used as a walking stick when not in use to stabilize your camera.
Mine has 4 sections that expand from about 15″ to ~48 which is much taller than you would need.

I’ve seen a lot of the sunrise and sunset the last few days as I’ve been out searching for my lost kitty. I’m trying to stay hopeful as well.

Got a couple more leads. Have another full day off from work to search. Fingers crossed today’s the day.
