After a week of unrest caused by those dumb scammers, I finally slept without dreams or nightmares – from 7 PM to 5:30 AM. Oh, Merry Christmas to me, by the way, as it was Christmas on that day.
With 90 minutes drive to the Grand Canyon, I decided to head out early because I could. I was alone, finally, and didn’t have to adhere to anyone’s schedule but mine, and, of course, the sun. I have to return before dark. I have bad astigmatism in my left eye, which rendered me blind at night. I will need to pick my new glasses when I return.
The Grand Canyon was not quiet that day. Even at 9 AM, the parking lot was already crowded with people. I’m guessing everyone thought the same thing I did – Grand Canyon wouldn’t be crowded on Christmas.
As I edit my photos taken at the Grand Canyon, I’m struck with the realization – I don’t think any camera can ever capture the true beauty of Grand Canyon. The colors all looked off from how I saw it and I had to work to let those colors come out. Maybe it was my eyes??? I’ve always known there’s a difference between the human eyes and the camera’s but in this case, there’s a stark contrast.

What can I say about Grand Canyon? It’s magnificent, breathtaking, and other than all living species, I think it’s one of his greatest creations.

I’m glad you got to go see the Grand Canyon. I’ve never been there, so I’m enjoying your photos, even if as you say, impossible for the camera to get it just right. Such a beautiful sight! 🙂

I hope you get to go one day. Grand Canyon is truly a beautiful place, one will have to see it in person as opposed to in pictures.

Your photos are stunning. I know what you mean by the difference of something so literally grand when viewing in person as opposed to through the camera. Sometimes I get too caught up with the photography. I need to also look at life around me.

Thank you.
I know what you mean. I get caught up in photography, too, and sometimes I force myself to put the camera for a moment and just take in the view.
