#WeekendCoffeeShare – Another week in January

Good morning! Welcome, please help yourself to a cup of hot or cold beverage and join me for a quick chat.

The sun and blue skies finally came out on Thursday after probably another 5-inches of snow fell the day before. This was the view from the 9th floor of my work building in downtown SLC on Thursday as I had to take a breather from the dim florescent office lighting. Honestly, it was hurting my eyes.

It looks like the temperature will start warming up in the next week. I’m really looking forward to it. I’m tired of constantly feeling cold in my house, particularly while I’m watching TV at night. I was shivering last night and curled up like a ball despite I was in thick sweatpants and jacket despite the ambient temperature was 67-degrees-Fahrenheit.

My body is having a very difficult time regulating temperature due to my autoimmune issues.

Even though it was a shortened work week because of Martin Luther King Jr. Day on Monday, it was a hard work week with lots of emails and computer problems. On Tuesday, my laptop decided to freeze every few minutes, causing what should’ve been a 5-minute task turned into a 45-minute task. Then Excel decided to act up on Friday. Even IT had a hard time troubleshooting this problem and it caused me to nearly go into full manic mode, especially with mom blasting YouTube from her tablet downstairs. No amount of soothing music or podcast could block that out.

I have been very tired lately. Even after almost 10 hours of sleep, I was still waking up sleepy. I’ve also been plagued by strange dreams, which would trap me in a state of sleep until I force myself to wake up. That effort was mentally exhaustive.

I feel like there’s something wrong with me and I’m not handling it well. My watch is only giving me a score of 70 out of 100 for my stress management, which, in my book, is not a good score. I wonder if I should make an appointment with my general physician and do some check up. Maybe I should. I’ve been meaning to get my A1C checked since both sides of my family have history of diabetes and I might be having symptoms of pre-diabetes.

Finally, I’m looking forward to next week. It will be the last full week of January and I have no doubt February will be better.

#weekendcoffeeshare is hosted by Natalie of Natalie the Explorer. I appreciate you stopping by. Until next we chat. 🙂

  1. I hope you have a better week next week. If you continue to feel run down and everything, yeah, a call to the doctor is not a bad idea…
I’d love to be out in Utah skiing… lol, I hope to get my first ski day in on Monday, but it won’t be on a mountain like those! (NH has small mountains, but ski-able)

  2. Don’t ignore anxiety. It’s telling you something. We need it but too much is not great. Tell your body you refuse to be diabetic. I know, it sounds daft, but the body takes instructions, in my experience. Lots of love.

  3. I’m sorry you haven’t been feeling well. I’ll echo other commenters re: seeing a doctor. It’s better to catch problems early before they get worse or steal years of what could have been good health. Good luck! I hope you feel better very soon.
