As it’s been a relatively mild winter, I’ve seen birds come and gone from my backyard, probably looking for food. I watched them peck at my perennials and leave shortly after, probably disappointed that there’s nothing for them despite the plants are alive and green.
I’ve been wanting to put a bird feeder in my yard for a few years now but haven’t had the chance, not with my mom constantly saying she wants to chop down the trees in the yard. There’s a fruitless pear tree in the yard, which is the spot where I would like the bird feeder. I can only imagine how she would react if I’m to install a bird feeder there.
When I was on my road trip in December, I photographed birds whenever I got the opportunity. I think they make better subjects than humans despite they do move around a lot but that’s what makes them interesting and fun to photograph.
I got this image when I was walking along the canyon rim trail in the Grand Canyon. I found myself so focused on the canyon side of the trail that I completely forgot there was another side to the trail, which is the forest side. It’s not everyday I get to see some kind of blue bird.
The forest is surprisingly full of life. There were birds, insects, animals snoring. Wait… snoring?
I might had ventured a little too far down the canyon rim trail to no man’s land. It was then I suddenly noticed I was all alone, the group of people that started the trail had long since turned back. I found the next turn back to the parking lot but as I approached the main road, the snoring grew louder.
Please don’t wake up, please don’t wake up, I begged mentally. Thankfully, I made it back to parking lot in one piece.
Finally, I cannot remember a single time when I’ve been to Bryce Canyon and haven’t walked away with a picture or two of ravens. They are everywhere and I think they are quite a beautiful creature, especially when the sun is shining down on their feathers. Don’t you think their feathers shimmer in the sun?
