“Give a little happiness,” he scoffed, “is this a joke?” His therapist wanted to meet him here, at this coffee shop. Why, he wondered as he pushed the door open, of all places, why here?
The moment he walked into the shop, he spotted her – his therapist – in the booth in the corner with her face buried behind her laptop screen. Before he could get to her though, a smiling pimply teen appeared in front of him. “Welcome to A Cup of Happiness, would you like to try our Signature Happiness Brew? It’s guaranteed to bring 50% more happiness into your day.”
He stared at the teen for a second and felt his insides just about boiled over like a volcano about to erupt. For a moment, he wanted to swing his balled-up fist across the kid’s face to knock that smile off but then he spotted his therapist surveying him from her booth and it was then he knew, this was a test.
Slowly, he inhaled and exhaled a large gulp of air, cleared his throat, and said, “Um, yes, please, a regular size.”
The kid nodded, handed him a small piece of paper with a number on it – 38 – and gestured at the counter with a large sign – Pick Up – over it. “Pick up is at the end of that counter.”
He nodded and went directly to the booth where he found his therapist smiling. “I’m guessing I passed your test?”

This is a wonderful story idea Yinglan. Loved the test. Thanks for joining in.
