This is an modified version of a story I wrote on May 19, 2014.
I am lying on the couch, watching the sun fighting to pierce this forever-dark home theater through the tightly-shut blinds. I am staring up at the ceiling like always while my body is still coated with orange soda and red cheesy dusts. It does makes me wonder whether all humans are all disgusting creatures or just these humans.
Won’t it be awesome if I have arms and legs like them? I would love to be able to walk cross this room and yank those curtains wide open, let this room drown in sunlight, and oh, won’t it be great if I have the ability to escape the humans and their sticky fingers? Oh, think of the wonderful possibilities to escape this boring life!
Written for Six Sentence Story. The prompt is “Remote“.

What if smartphones also think the same?

I guess it’s a lesson to treat objects like they have feelings. 😀

They may have found the perfect humans to live with. Others might have a vacuum cleaner or even worse stuff. Nice tale from an unusual perspective.

I wonder how many of our things would want to escape if they were sentient.

I treat a lot of my things like it has thoughts and feelings but I have a feeling many of them would be thinking of an escape if they were sentient.

Maybe the remote can spark the right connection to walk away? Neat POV for this Six!

Love where you went with the prompt! They do say that remote controls are covered with the worst bacteria imaginable because no one ever cleans them!
