Six Sentence Story: Dream

Please note that this is a work of fiction!

Thrashing, tossing, and moaning, her face was contorted like she was trying to reach for something with her mind. “Hey, hey,” he tried to wake her by jostling her, she’s had a rough night, and as much as he wanted to let her rest, he couldn’t continue to witness her having a bad dream. She gasped, startled awake, “It’s all right,” he wrapped his arms around her and comforted her as she pressed her face into his chest, clearly still frightened by the dream, “it’s okay, it’s just a bad dream.”

“It felt so real,” she said in between sobs, “It was so real,” but even as she said the words, the dream had already begun to fade. She hated those dreams, every time just as she was about to uncover the secret that’s been hidden in her brain waiting to be discovered, she would be somehow startled awake and despite the event from the night before, she’s no closer to finding out the message her brain was tell her.

After a moment, she pulled her face from his chest, wiped the tears in her eyes, and sighed, “My brain,” she pointed to her head, “it’s trying to tell me something but I don’t know what, will you help me figure it out?”

    1. I think it might help if she can go under hypnosis, maybe she will be able experience the dream in a waking state and find out what it was her mind was trying to tell her.
