Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #315 – Common Objects

Happy Sunday! Ritva is hosting this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge and she has chosen a challenging (to me) theme – common objects.

If you have followed me for long enough, you’d know I don’t take photos of everyday objects. That’s because I live in a house with gray walls, gray countertops, and constant insufficient light. Besides, what is there to take pictures about? The utensils are passed down from strangers and the bowls are this unflattering shade of green like the wicked witch’s face.

So all I have are some photos from past times like this keyboard. I don’t know about you but the keyboard and I are constant companions. My work depends on it and even this lovely hobby of mine depend on it because for the life of me, I can adapt to any situation except compose a blog post from my phone.

I don’t usually take photos in museums. I am usually focused at reading and learning the significance of the objects but somehow this ancient bowl and plate caught my eyes at the Tokyo National Museum.

Finally, a fancy glass of water at a steak house in China. This was during the 4 months I spent there in 2017 and before you ask, no I didn’t have a steak in the steak house. From my experience, people in China go to steak houses for western food or their version of it, which is nowhere the version I get here in the US.

It’s quite misleading, actually, because it’s just the franchise Chinese restaurants here in the US, it’s just a version of the dishes to please the locals. The meal was delicious though.
