Continue from last week’s Unicorn Challenge
It has taken her almost 6 months before she felt she had truly moved into her House on the Hill. That was the name she gave her house. Whenever one of her remote colleagues asked where she lived, she would tell them, “Oh, I live in the House on the Hill.”
It has a nice ring to it, she thought and the more she said it, the more she loved it. The House on the Hill. My House on the Hill.
There was quite a bit of work to be done to the interior of the house as her styles were especially particular. Even before she got the keys in her hands, she was hiring contractors left and right. The kitchen had to be redone, so did the bathroom, and my god, was the master bedroom a mess.
Of course, construction is still going on and it will go on for a while but today, she decides to go out and explore. Enough being cooped up in the house, she thinks as she puts on her boots and extra layers.
The area’s beautiful, there’s no doubt about it, she thinks as she ventures down the straight and narrow trail toward the sea. It didn’t take her long before reaching the end, “Why, what do we have here?” Slowly, she descends the steep wooden stairs to the beach, then looks back up the hill at her house, and smiles, I made the right decision after all.

You portray a woman with determination, Yinglan, and the story ties in nicely with the prompt.
A happy and satisfactory ending.

Thank you. 😊 I didn’t think there would be a continuation to last week’s story but your picture this week just made me think of that. Are those places near one another?

Thank you. I think it was why she was searching for a plot of land, to get away from the busyness of civilization and just be.
