The Unicorn Challenge – Start to a Vacation

For the Unicorn Challenge

He is NOT in a good mood.

First, he nearly missed his domestic flight because he was trying to get a meal at the food court after a long day of work, which he did not expect to be so busy. Why, oh why do people save their to-do list of tasks for the last minute?

He thought about bolting and wait for the airplane’s peanut and cola but each time he moved, his stomach gave an angry growl. With his anxiety and hunger rising as the minutes ticked away, he finally gritted his teeth and pulled out of the line. Peanuts and cola will have to do.

After 45 minutes of deplaning and racing to the international terminal, sweaty and out of breath, he boarded the flight to his vacation. 8 hours to go, he counted in his head and prayed the first meal would come quickly. As he took his seat, however, he discovered he was seated next to a young mother, father, and their infant son. Inhaling and exhaling a long deep breath, he repeated, 8 hours to go.

Over 8 hours of minimal movements later, with stiff pretty much his whole body, he got off the plane and followed the rest of the people toward immigration and custom. After that, it was to the lovely house he saw on Airbnb.

“Damn it!” He swears as he tries to free his hair from the vines. “Who thought of using this devil of a plant for a gate?!”
