Sunday Poser #210 – Losing Track of Time

What makes you lose track of time?

What activity makes you lose track of your time? And do you cherish this use of your time or regret it?

I can become lost track of time in so many ways. In the spring and summer, I get lost in my garden chores for hours on end. Then in the winter, I either spend the days crocheting, doing jigsaw puzzles, watching TV, or play games on my phone.

I recently started playing a couple of games on my phone. One of them is logic puzzles, the other is called “cross math” where it’s like a crossword puzzle but with numbers, my favorite so far is the game called “Traffic Jam”, where I help cars get out of traffic jams.

In the game, I’m given a specific number of moves and I must clear the cars from the road before I can move to the next level. This game forces me to slow down and think about each move because moving too fast will just cause error. I have this problem in life sometimes and I would end up regretting the decision.

I don’t get distracted easily when I’m by myself. Often, it’s others who distracts me and it would take me a while before I can get back to my task, by which time, I’d be down another rabbit hole.

I don’t think I’ve ever thought about whether I cherish or regret using my time for such things as games. I look at doing things like playing these games and crochets a way to exercise the mind, like a form of meditation.
