The Unicorn Challenge – A Quick Snack

For the Unicorn Challenge

Bud could smell it a mile away each time the mobile meat market came to town – the delicious meats his owner would have no choice to buy. I will have meat for dinner, Bud thought excitedly.

“Bud,” his owner, Stephanie, called, out of breath, as she ran after him. “Come on, Buddy, mommy did not bring her wallet today, let’s go home.” As she tried to hook the leash to his collar, Bud turned away, as if he was telling her, “I ain’t leaving here until you get me what I want.”

“Why Bud?” Stephanie chided, “Let’s go home.”

Just then, the owner of the mobile meat market appeared, he leaned over the counter, “What’s going on here?”

“Sorry, Hank,” Stephanie apologized. Stephanie was a regular customer of Hank’s market but not when she left her wallet on the kitchen counter-top. “I forgot my wallet today. Otherwise, I would’ve bought something for Bud.”

“Oh, that’s no problem at all. I think Bud just wants a snack, don’t you Buddy?” Hank stepped out of the truck and bent down to Bud’s eye level. Bud let out a bark. From behind, Hank pulled out a plate of meat and placed it in front of Bud. Immediately, Bud tore into the meat.
