There she was, neatly stacking crates one on top of the other. Meanwhile, he, her father, was flinging said crates. “Didn’t I say to clean this up, girl?”
“Yes, father,” she answered quietly, on the inside, she was seething. If you stop ruining all my hard work…
“What’s that, girl?”
She sighed. How much she would give to be with her mother right at that moment. I bet she’s half-way around the world, she thought. Why didn’t I go with her when I was given the chance?
Teeth gritting, she picked up the crates he flung and stacked them again.

I guess the moral of the story is, if you are offered a trip around the world, take it!

Her mother was right, going away on a trip. I am sure she was not for stacking boxes. Should have gone with her.

I think her mother was right on leaving but she could’ve tried harder at convincing her daughter to go with her instead of letting her stay in this dump.

I’d be tempted to fling the stuff at him, then run for my life!

Haha, I wanted to do the same thing. What a cruel father.

Seems to be a serious communication gap going on. You captured the tension nicely.

Thank you. I feel like it’s more of a case of parental negligence than a communication gap.
