There are so many thoughts swirling in my head at the moment like as of now, I have 4 days to pack and complete all the tasks I need to get done before getting on a plane for Taipei.
The weather over the weekend was marvelous. The sun was shining and it was a shorts and T-shirt and sunscreen kind of weather. I cleaned out the areas that needed to be cleaned out like my personal meadow and the berry patch. There was a lot of pruning that needed to be done for the strawberries but I was glad they were all alive and waking up from their winter naps.
After pruning the strawberries, I applied the last of the sulfur to the blueberries to acidify the soil before applying a couple handfuls of acid-loving plants fertilizer. Finally, a thick layer of straw mulch was placed on top to keep the soil from drying out. Hopefully, there will be enough rain and/or other forms of moisture to keep the plants happy while I’m gone.
As I was pruning the strawberries, I saw this little guy crawling around the strawberry plants. I know it’s a ladybug by its dots. They are symmetrical on both sides. I also know they are one of the good guys in the garden and boy oh boy, after last gardening season, I need more good guys to help me fight the bad bugs in the garden.
I ended up transplanting some of the brassicas veggies even though I keep saying to wait. Looking at the weather, I have a feeling they can handle it. I want to start some new seeds this week, so I need to clear some space to do so.
I just know this week will be busy both at work and at home, especially with the month-end close coinciding with training one co-worker to do my tasks while I’m gone and preparing another co-worker to do his tasks while I’m gone. I just hope everything will go well while I’m off to explore Asia for 2 weeks.

Wonderful ♥️
