Day 4, another day in Taiwan, another day of hot, humid weather.
If there’s one thing I won’t miss about this place, it’s the weather. Although it’s not as bad as when I went to Japan 2 years ago, it’s still much more humid (about 2-3 times) than where I live in northern Utah. Compare to the US, this weather can probably be compared to that of Texas and Florida, not something I’m used to.
Because it was 85°F with 80%. humidity, we decided to spend it indoors and what better way for a couple of history lovers than to spend the day in a museum. The National Palace Museum is a place to spend the day.
My favorite exhibition was the calligraphy exhibition. It was very interesting (to me) to see the beautiful handwriting of historical figures, whether well-known or ordinary. There were a few documents that made me wonder whether the Chinese characters were handwritten or typed. That’s how good they were. T
Do you know the worst thing to do in such weather?
Hiking up the mountain!
Too bad I’m a sucker for a good sunset. Hiking in Taiwan is different. Instead of hiking on a sloped dirt path, it’s an endless staircase. It reminded me of the time when I climbed the Great Wall of China. I must admit, though, it does make going up and down much easier but get ready for sore thighs.
The reward at the end of the road was definitely worth it.

Wow!
I hope your sore thighs heel up quickly. And once back home, I’m sure these amazing captures from the top of the mountain will remind you that you did the right thing 🙂

I knew I’ve done the right thing. We had plenty of rest afterwards and I think it’s what set this trip apart from the beginning. My mom understood that we have to take it easy.
