Friday Fictioneers: Cabin Fever

Staring out the window of her apartment, Mary sensed a wave of irritation come over her. She wanted to be outside. She needed to be out there, not in her tiny apartment. In one swoop, she knocked her crutches to the ground.

“Damn it!” She seethed and tried to bend down to pick up the fallen crutches just as pain shot up from everywhere at once. Groaning and grunting, she righted herself again. “Great, now you’re not even getting up to the bathroom, happy now?” After a moment, she sighed, “I should’ve never gotten into the car that night.”
