I haven’t captured a single image in the garden with my DSLR this year. All the images so far were taken with a phone and as handy as my phone is, it will never look like this, not unless I have a macro lens on the phone’s camera.
I took this a few days ago when I saw the sun spotlighting on the two red English poppies in the garden. Like most flowers, English poppies look so delicate and ephemeral that all the petals can fly off in a strong gust of wind.
According to AI, this is a blanket flower and the bee on the flower is a female metallic green sweat bee. Talk about a lucky shot. I love finding these different types of bees in my garden. It the reason I started a wildflower patch. Although, it looks like this patch has been taken over by calendula, alyssum, and California poppies again this year while there’s a blue flax, blanket flower, and English poppies in the back corner. I hope these will re-seed, the flower is absolutely beautiful.

Yinglin, your beautiful flowers brought me smiles this morning.
