This week, Egidio has issued a directional challenge for Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #417 with Where does it lead?

In China, I tried to capture as many interesting photos as I could. Some of those were signs pointing in all kinds of directions. The first photo was captured at the Pukou Railway Station Cultural Tourism Area in Nanjing. What I found interesting about this sign was I walked all the way to the end of the street and all I found was construction. There was no pedestrian bridge nor street. So it made me wonder, how to get to the places of those bottom two arrows?
Another interesting and humorous sign was one I saw at Tiger Hill in Suzhou. The sign was placed against a stone wall with nothing above but trees, so where’s the restroom? I never did find this elusive restroom. Also, no stepping over what? I could read the Chinese but it meant something different.

Next are two sets of stairs, also in China. Where do they lead indeed?
Interestingly, the first picture led pretty much nowhere while the second set of stairs led to the entrance to Nanjing’s ancient city wall.

Finally, let’s wrap things up in my home state of Utah. I love driving on mountainous roads. I find the challenge exhilerating and who wants to manuever a straight road when curves are so much more interesting?
The first photo is Forest Road (FR 114). It’s a scenic backway, meaning it fell short of the standards for a scenic byway. Most of the times, this means the roadway is a little narrower with sharp curves, lots of sharp curves. This is one of my favorite roads in Utah. I would take this road from Midway to Cascade Springs at least once a year. Last year, I took this road to see fall colors.
The other photo is none other than state highway 12. I drove the entire length of 123 miles in the spring of 2021 and this was the most challenging part of the drive. There was curve after curve that got me wondering where was the end to this and where would all these curve lead? When I finally arrived at the overlook and looked down at the road I just drove, I remember chuckling, was I just down there?
