A Wrap-up of 2014: Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award

A few months ago, SUEJU TAKESHI nominated me for the Sisterhood of the World Blogger Award but as usual, my procrastination prevails. But since I am on my winter break, I thought what better time to publish this than before the new year. I like to give a big round of thanks again to SUEJU TAKESHI for nominating this blog for this awesome award.

So according to Sueju, these are the rules (F.Y.I, apparently this award is strictly for females) :

  1. Thank the blogger who nominated you, linking back to their site. (DONE!)
  2. Put the award logo on your blog. (DONE!)
  3. Answer the ten questions I’ve asked you. (DONE!)
  4. Make up ten new questions for your nominees to answer. (DONE!)
  5. Nominate ten people.

Here are the questions from Sueju:

1. As a woman, what is undoubtedly your true basis of beauty?

It doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside, it’s who you are on the inside, that’s what matters.

2. What are the things that always drive you mad?

It used to baby’s crying but that was when I was taking public transportation to and from school because their crying just makes my head want to burst even though I already put in noise isolated headphones.

Since the summer, I have found out something else that just drives me crazy. Airplanes! They rumble over my head every 5 minutes, sometimes continuously. They are not the normal kind of planes, they are fighter planes and they are incredibly loud. I can’t hear anything when they fly over. It’s like a war zone. I can’t wait to get out of here. Never live 5 minutes from an air force base.

3. Are you an advocate of feminism? Why or why not?

Hmm, I am not sure.

4. Have you done something you really regret? What is it and why do you regret doing it?

I don’t exactly regret doing this but I do wish that I had the gut to stand up for myself at the time.

I really wanted to go to a technical (trade) school five years ago to do graphic design. It was a very hot career and a school even accepted me. It’s just the tuition is very expensive. I wanted to go into graphic design but some people thought it wasn’t a good idea (I’m not going to name names). They wanted me to get into a more well known school and do something better than a technical degree. So, I think if I had the gut to stand up for myself at the time, I might have just altered my entire future.

5. What if you will be the first ever woman to live on Mars, and you will be paid for millions or billions of dollars just live there for a year or two; given that Mars is already suitable for humans to live and that your name will written on history books … but of course you will live there alone. Will you accept the offer? Why or why not?

Yeah, I think so. Life’s too boring on Earth, I need some new adventures.

6. Is there a day in your life when you wished that you were just born a boy/man/male? Tell us something about it.

Nope, I like it just the way I am.

7. What will you consider first, your friends or your dreams? Choose only one among the choices.

I would always consider both because friends are important and while dreams are, too, important, there is a chance they may not come true or not turn out like we’ve planned. Also dreams can change in a second but once a friend is lost, it’s lost forever and never be the same. So if I can only choose one, I would consider friends first because friends are more valuable than dreams.

8. How do you view life as a whole?

Life is definite and limited. Therefore, each minute is precious.

9. If you will be born again, what insect would you want to be?

Ha ha, I’ve never thought about that. I guess I will be a caterpillar that will eventually become a beautiful butterfly.

10. What is the book which you have found so influential to your life?

I haven’t found it yet. I guess I need to read more books. I don’t imagine it be that easy to find a book that has this much power over my life.

My ten questions:

  1. Refer to question 5 above, would you do it? Spend a year or two alone on Mars?
  2. When you meet someone new, in order to determine whether you want to be their friend, do you judge them by how they look on the outside or do you judge by their inner beauty?
  3. What is one food you will absolutely never touch?
  4. Who do you most admire? (Since this award is strictly female, the answer to this question should be a female)
  5. If you can change one thing about your life, what would it be?
  6. How do you view life as a whole?
  7. Which is more important to you? Friendship or dreams (aspirations)?
  8. Do you have one thing that you regret the most? What is it and why?
  9. What is one noise that drives you absolutely insane?
  10. If you were given a plane ticket and you can travel anywhere with that ticket, where would you go and why?

Hmm, here’s the tough part. I don’t know why to nominate. Therefore I’ll nominate any female who’d like to take a whack at these questions. I love to hear your responses to these 10 questions!
