Photo101: A Pop of Color

So I haven’t really had the opportunity to go out and take some new photographs since mom has decided to only work one day a week now that she’s getting closer to being laid-off. It affect me going outside and taking pictures because she doesn’t believe in taking pictures without people in it.

wpid-dscf0018.jpgMeanwhile, she had spent the recent days re-painting doors and the kitchen counter-tops. I don’t know why. I think she has nothing to do and just trying to find something to do. It’s very annoying because she’s always calling me to do something when I’m in the middle of something like writing a story or a post. Once I get distracted, there’s no going back. I can’t tell her, “No, I’m in the zone,” either because she’ll get angry and that will ruin my day. So I’ll just have to sacrifice my imagination.

Oh yes, back to this picture. I’m glad I took this picture a few weeks back because last night I took a look at the roses and the color’s changed into this ugly magenta color. Soon, the petals will fall off, leaving with only the stem.

In order to make the color pop, I did an “unsplash”, drenching the picture in black and white in pixlr and then only splash the rose with color.

This has also been a response for the Daily Prompt – Snapshot Stories.

  1. This rose is very pretty. I like how you did the background color too. Glad you took it’s picture before it withered away.:) … Question…how do you get to put your name on your photos?

    1. Thank you, I’m glad you like it. 🙂
I have a photo editing app on my tablet that allows me to type on photos. Before the app, I used “paint” on my laptop.
