This week, on Lens-Artists Photo Challenge #181, host Tina asks to explore other photo challenges within the blogosphere.
I don’t participate in many photo challenges because I don’t have the time to and after working so many hours a day, my mind is often mush by the time I get off of work and don’t have the energy to come up with the photos for photo challenges.
However, I am going to try.
I’m linking this photo to A Photo A week – Prosperity. I don’t have a large family and I don’t know much history past my parents’ generation. This is my grandmother who recently passed on the 29th of December – may she rest in peace.
I have been told I look like her. I have also been told I look like the female version of my dad. I don’t know whether to take that as a compliment.
Anyway, this was taken in 2017 when I visited China for the first time in 12 years and I think this is probably the last photo I have with my grandmother.
Lastly, I’m linking this photo (first new photo of 2022) of a beautiful sunset I shot outside my house on Friday evening to Weekend Sky #51, hosted by Hammad Rais. It will be my first submission and I hope to contribute more in the future.
Excellent job Yinglan. sorry to hear about your grandmother but good for you for having traveled to be with her. And thank you for taking the time to participate in the other challenges. I knew when I chose the subject that it would mean extra work for everyone but it seems to have helped us all to see some of the other challenges out there so I’m happy to see so many participants. I’d not heard of either of the challenges you highlighted so thanks for that!

Condolences for your grandmother. I too don’t follow other challenges, and I’m retired! Toooo time consuming for me.

When I was two, my parents took me to our ancestral home in India, when my great grandmother was still alive. She treated me like her little as I showered with nothing but love, along with amazing tasty treats everyday.
Sadly, I don’t have any memory about it, nor any photos because taking pictures back then wasn’t a common thing.
Thank you so much for sharing your 1st 2022 sunset capture with my challenge 🙂

I’m sorry you don’t have any physical memory of your great grandmother but at least she’ll live in your mind.
