Lunar New Year 2022

I woke up to a flurry of messages on my phone from my relatives in China and the annoying bunch near me. Happy New Year, they all say.

Still half asleep, I managed to find a meme on the phone and sent it to everyone.

It’s another day of work here.

There’s no celebration – no firecrackers going off, no lantern displays – the only sort-of festivity is my mom making soup, something she hasn’t done in probably a year. There’s pig spleen, pig heart, and water chestnut. To good health, she said as we both drank the black color soup last night.

It’s good, alright, even though I have no idea what eating a bunch of pig organs will do to my health.

Today is another busy day at work as I start catching up on last month’s billing.

Happy Lunar New Year to those who cares and have a great rest of the day to those who don’t.
