Amy from The World is a Book… is the host for this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge and she is challenging everyone to show all the little things that put a smile on our faces.
It doesn’t take a lot to put a smile on my face. It’s just a matter of stepping into my back garden and getting a glimpse at how my veggies are progressing would usually does it. I’m still awe at how fast these grow. It seemed like just yesterday I sowed the seeds for baby bok choy and snow peas into the cold soil but wait, has it really been 2 months since I’ve sown the seeds?
It also puts a smile on my face to know I will have early flowers this year. I started the marigolds too late last year and didn’t end up getting blooms until September. Well, this year, I started the flowers early so I can get first blooms late May.

This is my first time growing zinnias and honestly, I didn’t think the flowers would be this small even if these are dwarf varieties. Maybe they’re pre-mature blooms? Hmm… Anyway, seeing them still makes me happy.
Last but not least, seeing landscapes like this makes me smile because it’s such a calming and peaceful image and looking at it brings me back to that moment when I was standing at that spot taking the picture.
Your “every little things” made me smile this morning Yinglan.

Your veggie garden, how impressive! Thank you for sharing your joys of growing them. I love zinnias; they grow well through summer and fall. 🙂

Thank you. It’s my first time growing zinnias so I’ll have to see how it fares in the hot summer of Utah. 😀

Your garden is progressing nicely. I think the zinnias will fill in, for now though…well done. And yes…the little things are the big things . Donna
