How important it is to you to answer comments on your blog posts?
I must admit, I have been slacking off in replying to comments in the last few months. It isn’t because I’m ignoring my notification or anything. It’s just I choose not to look at my phone notification during work hours other than the 5 or 10 minutes I can squeeze in between my tasks to read posts and check notifications.
Nonetheless, responding to comments on my blog posts is very important to me because I typically view blog posts as a conversation and I often write my posts as a open-ended conversation. I always value people’s opinion as it helps me to improve and being a perfectionist (unfortunately), it’s what I constantly stride for – improvement.
I also think responding to comments on a blog post lets the reader know I’m present. I’m not one of those people who just throws a post on the wall and walk away, not caring whether anyone likes it or have any remarks. I often will try to reply within a few hours but if I don’t, check back in 48 hours, that’s my maximum respond time.

Thanks for sharing Yinglan. Not everyone has a lot of free time to spend on blogging! So responding to comments a bit late is fine as long as you do. From my personal experience, I’ve stopped commenting on posts where the blogger ignores my comments. 👍🏼❤️

I’m the same way. If I comment and never get a comment back, I tend to stop commenting although I did have my comment replied a few weeks later, which by that time, I would had forgotten what I’ve commented on.

Oh! how lucky you are to get so many comments. I hardly get likes and a comment is like a gift. Someone far away or near has read and taken out time to comment!

I think everything takes time to build up. It took me a few years to build up a following and I’m sure you will, too, get there someday when you get tons of likes and comments. 🙂
