#SundayStills: Two of a Kind #Double

This week, it’s time to look closer because you will be seeing double on this week’s #SundayStills.

I have many pictures of ducks, mallards, and geese but I’ve chosen to highlight this one this week. It was taken in a park in London during my UK trip in May. I was still disappointed about not seeing the changing of the guards at Buckingham Palace because of the crowds.

Anyway, our next destination was the Tower of London and not knowing how to get there, I relied solely on Google Map to guide me, that is if my mom would stop taking detours because she thinks it will be a shortcut. No detour is ever a “shortcut,” in life or on maps. I guess it was how I managed to walk over 50 miles that week.

If we’re going for a long walk, I might as well get some pictures along the way. The detour was through a park and in the middle of the park was a lake. As we crossed a bridge, I saw this family of mallards – a mom, a pop, and a bunch of ducklings. As I was editing this picture for this post, I couldn’t help but laugh – mom always leads the pack while dad follows close behind.

I eventually got to see the changing of the guards, just not at Buckingham Palace. After seeing the crown jewels at the Tower of London, which was whoa and wow at the same time, I mean, I’ve never seen so much sparkles in my life, we were outside taking a picture of the guard when the door to the tower opened and two guards came strutting out.

It was time for the guards to trade places. I was incredibly excited. I finally get to see it and up close this time.

Well, it was short and anticlimactic, in my opinion, and now I don’t know why there’s a crowd to see such thing. At the end of the day, the changing of the guard is basically one person stepping up to the post while the other person takes a seat from being a stone.
