Happy Sunday! Hosting this week’s Lens-Artists Photo Challenge, Ann-Christine has presented an intriguing theme of Work in Progress. I hope you like my offering.

After visiting several large cities in the last 12 months, I can safely say that one thing they all have in common is constructions. There are buildings going up and being torn down. The construction of a city is never over. There’s always a building that’s too old which must come down to make room for something new. Construction cranes are nothing new, just another construction project in progress.

If you’re a gardener, you probably heard the phrase, “the plant isn’t here to give you food, it’s here to reproduce and spread its seeds to make sure there’s a next generation.”

Therefore, it makes a plant a constant work-in-progress. Like the sunflower, the sprouts and off it grew. The act of producing the giant head of sunflower is to produce seeds. A plant will remain a constant work-in-progress until something kills it like a frost.

Finally, this is a crochet blanket I’ve been working on for a while but I just can’t seem to get it right after the second round. The problem always seems to be an extra stitch. I’ve taken apart this thing 3 times now and it’s remained a work-in-progress since the end of winter and it will probably remain this way until this winter as that’s when I spend my free time with a crochet hook and a ball of yarn.

  2. There are sure a lot of the same building works in progress around here too. I don’t like seeing the old buildings come down, but I guess one day these will be old buildings coming down too…

    1. Yes, nothing in the city stay up forever. I don’t like seeing the old buildings come down either but once the new building goes up, the space will look a lot better.

  3. So many good examples, and I so agree with you in all of them. Cities, constructions, old vs new. And plants – yes, clever they are, but they are driven by nature to reproduce. I like your choice of crocheting too – and I so can relate to doing it over and over again because the counting fails…I bet you will finish it – someday!

  7. I’d like to give crochet a go, I thought it was easier than knitting, and I’m ok with that 🙂 Looks lovely but I’m a bit like you, have projects that last a long time until they’re done.
